Hey Guys! Guildmaster welcoming you to what I call the College of Statics, a board for the discussion of game strategy for Guild Wars 2. We are blessed with the opportunity to enter into a world the human race has never seen before, and it is we who get to try out all the new gameplay mechanic systems, dungeons, and event areas. With a new game comes a certain air of the unknown, and while Guild wars 2 is very notable for making the game enjoyable for any player of any profession, I felt that we should aim to work together and teach each other more about the game as we quested and explored together.
I come from both a Game Designer background (as head of my own pc title company) and I am also known for my work on the strategic development site, Elitistjerks.com when I was really invested in World of Warcraft, around the WotLK era. As I now move my passion and gaming focus to the one and only Guild Wars 2, I have begun analysing the game so that I may offer some insight into effective mechanics, dungeon and puzzle strategies and other experimental techniques that may make our gaming together much easier.
As a disclaimer I don't intend to back up my theories with big long mathematical equations and flow charts (although some charts may be included for DPS assessment, and so on) because Guild Wars 2 is designed to be more about playing the game rather than statting your character. I would also very much like to see anyone elses feedback on gameplay tips and potential combat strategies for bosses and other events as we get familiar with the game. I will be updating this frequently as we master the dungeons and work our way to end-game content. Enjoy!
